However, after his ERA ballooned to 5.79 as a result of that outing, he has locked back in, conceding just two runs since—only one of which was in May. He's lowered his ERA to 2.21 for the season. He has his knuckle curve to thank for much of his success.

Given the pace he’s on at the moment, he’s set to surpass it in far fewer plate appearances.
