(WAFF) - A Redstone Federal Credit Union donation fund has been established for the family of missing Huntsville realtor Ronald Dumas Jr., a media company working with the family reported. Blunt Force Media representatives say the fund will help organize search teams in the Mississippi and Memphis areas and reintroduce a reward for any information leading to his whereabouts. Dumas has been missing since December 2024.

JACKSON CO., Ala. (WAFF) - A Jackson County man was arrested for using the identity of a deceased man to buy firearms. Jackson County Sheriff’s Office officials say in October 2024, a man was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance. It was later determined that the name and personal identifiers were those of a dead man. The offender was then identified as Stuary Jefferey Sandrock. Officials learned that Sandrock had been convicted of Soliciting to Commit Murder in San Diego in 1993.

COLBERT CO., Ala. (WAFF) - A federal judge has thrown out a request to dismiss a lawsuit against Colbert County Animal Services. The lawsuit, filed by Danny Smith, claims that his miniature horse was illegally taken by Colbert County Animal Services Director Corey Speegle and an animal control officer in 2023. According to WAFF 48 News partners, the Times Daily, Senior U.S. District Judge Lynwood Smith ruled that Smith had sufficiently proven that his horse was taken illegally.

FRANKLIN CO., Ala. (WAFF) - The son of a former Franklin County Commissioner is stepping into his father’s seat following his passing in May 2025. Governor Kay Ivey announced the appointment of 20-year-old Grayson Murray to serve as the Franklin County Commissioner for District 1. Murrary will fill the seat once filled by his father, Commissioner Michael Murray, who passed away on May 5 after being elected to the position in November 2024.
