QUETTA: A man allegedly addicted to drugs shot dead four members of his family in the Bhosa Mandi area on Quetta’s outskirts on Tuesday. According to police, the accused, identified as Nawab Khan, opened fire during a domestic dispute, killing his two sons — Yusuf Khan and Jumma Khan — and his daughter-in-law, Ruqya. His wife, Malaila, was critically injured and later died of wounds.

PESHAWAR: The Afghan Taliban plan to send a high-powered delegation to Pakistan, to raise concerns over what they call the forced deportation of Afghan refugees, as well as addressing issues related to bilateral and transit trade. ISLAMABAD: An Afghan woman journalist, Farishta Sadeed, was picked up by authorities from her residence in Sector B-17 on Monday night and taken to a detention facility for deportation, her family and relatives told Dawn on Tuesday. Ms Sadeed, who worked for Radio Bahar in the Kapisa province of Afghanistan, risks detention in Taliban-ruled Afghanistan, where women are not allowed to work in the public sphere. ISLAMABAD: The Large-Scale Manufacturing (LSM) sector continued to show sluggish performance as production contracted by 3.51 per cent in February compared to the same month last year, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics on Tuesday. On a month-on-month basis, the LSM recorded a negative growth of 5.90pc. The negative growth was recorded despite a 1,000 basis points cut in the key interest rate to 12pc since the start of the current fiscal year.
