    This is our fourth story of 2024-25 on high school student-athletes from Seacoast New Hampshire and Maine who have committed to continue their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level. We are featuring 14 student-athletes from Exeter High School. All have made their choice on where they will continue both their academic and athletic careers. In our first story, there were 27 student-athletes who committed to play beyond high school.

    HAMPTON – Glenn MacKenzie, after four years away, returned to the Winnacunnet High School girls lacrosse program in 2024 as head coach of the junior varsity team. In 2025, he led the Warriors to a Division II state championship. The former Winnacunnet varsity head coach – on two separate occasions - was fully content coaching the future of the program and leaving the head coach responsibilities to someone else.

    LEWISTON, Maine – Traip Academy junior Kiera Durgin was fouled on a shot and was awarded a free shot with 1:42 left in the second overtime of Tuesday’s Maine Class C girls lacrosse divisional final against top-seeded Wells. Durgin stepped up to the line for her 8-meter free shot.

    MANCHESTER – Bruce Joyce, one day before Father’s Day, stood near the tunnel behind the third base dugout of Delta Dental Stadium Saturday afternoon shortly after his Exeter High School baseball team beat rival Winnacunnet, 3-1, in the Division I state championship game. It took just about a minute for Joyce to gather his composure when he talked about what winning the championship meant just five days after his father, John, passed away, at the age of 93.

    MANCHESTER – What a difference a year – or 370 days to be precise - makes. One year after the Exeter High School baseball team walked off the Delta Dental Stadium field despondent after a 9-0 loss to Pinkerton Academy in the Division I baseball championship, the Blue Hawks found themselves with a second crack at a state title on Saturday afternoon against their rival Winnacunnet.
