Three WEM baseball players were honored last week by Gopher Conference baseball coaches. Juniors Jacob Androli, Brendan Snesrud, and Noah Lanham received post-season awards. Lanham received the Sportsmanship Award. Androli was named to the All-Gopher Team. Snesrud was named to the Honorable Mention All-Gopher Team. The top 25 players were named to the All-Conference Team. Each team has one player named to the Honorable Mention Team. Each team had one player selected to receive the Sportsmanship Award.

Outstanding pitching and just enough hitting has aided the Waterville Indians amateur baseball team in picking up three wins last week. The Indians are 7-0 in the 13-60 League and 8-0 overall after defeating Minnesota Lake, 2-1, Wednesday, June 4, Lake Crystal, 3-1, Friday, June 6, and Waseca, 6-2, Sunday, June 8.

Outstanding weather, great events, huge crowds highlight weekend festivalThousands of bullheads (13,000+) were served, the rain and clouds stayed away, the temperatures were perfect, queens were crowned, the carnival returned, and fun was had by all. The 2025 Waterville Bullhead Days Celebration held June 6 through June 8, was considered by many as one of the best in the 60-year history of the festival.

A total of eight Tri-City United (TCU) girls track and field team have advanced to the Class AA State Meet, which will be held Wednesday, June 11 and Thursday, June 12 at St. Michael Albertville High School. The Titans placed fifth in the Section 1AA Championship Saturday, May 31 and had many top performances. Northfield placed first with 139 points and they were followed by Byron (125), Winona (121.5), Stewartville (116), and TCU (96).
