North Carolinians have even more time to file their taxes.The IRS announced on Thursday it has extended the deadline once again -- from May 1 to Sept. 25. The extensions come as residents in western North Carolina continue to recover from Hurricane Helene.The deadline extension automatically applies to any taxpayers with an address in the state. Individuals and businesses do not have to contact the IRS to qualify for the extension. Anyone who needs a tax filing extension beyond Sept.

THE SUSPECT IN THE CASE WAS IDENTIFIED AS A 20 YEAR OLD SON OF A LEON COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPUTY. THE SHERIFF SAID ONE OF THE WEAPONS FOUND AT THE SCENE WAS A SERVICE GUN.

A man has died in an interstate crash, according to officials with the Greensboro Police Department.On Wednesday, just before 9:30 p.m., officers, along with the Greensboro Fire Department and Guilford County EMS responded to Interstate 85 North near Randleman Road after reports of a two-vehicle crash.Officials said Victor Manuel Francisco Gallegos, 26, was driving a Nissan Xterra on I-85, but had stopped in a lane for an unknown reason.

POLICE FOUND 21 YEAR OLD MILTON GUILLEN SUFFERING FROM MULTIPLE GUNSHOT WOUNDS. WE’RE TOLD HE DIED AT THE SCENE. INVESTIGATORS HAVE NOT RELEASED A SUSPECT DESCRIPTION AT THIS TIME.
