The calls are now coming from inside the house. Yesterday, during a tense three-hour caucus meeting, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau faced a group of some 20 of his own MPs calling for him to consider stepping down as Liberal leader. They have reportedly  given him a deadline of October 28 to resign. Simultaneously, a leaked Liberal grassroots petition began to make the rounds, describing an “existential crisis” in the party, and calling for an immediate secret ballot vote on his leadership.
