The arrival of Providence had long been anticipated following close to two years in a Maine shipyard preparing for a new life in Virginia. After more than 33 years as a small business owner on King Street in Old Town, Carol Supplee is closing her beloved shop Imagine Artwear with June 30 as its final day serving customers in person. Supplee will be transitioning to an online business model to focus on her health. “I’m not sure I had a concept in mind when I started but it certainly has become a place where people came to meet, make friends, start conversations,” Supplee said.
