    INDIAN SHORES — Former mayor Patrick Soranno urged the Town Council at its April 8 meeting to press ahead with a long-discussed sidewalk project along Gulf Boulevard. Sorrano outlined the 25-year history of the Indian Shores Sidewalk/Storm Drain Project, which began in 1995 when the Florida Department of Transportation recommended installing sidewalks and enhancing the stormwater drainage system.

    NORTH REDINGTON BEACH — New faces were introduced at a March 13 meeting of the Town Commission. There was recently installed Mayor Jay Super, Seat 1 Commissioner Steve Bradley and Seat 2 Commissioner Rick Nagrabski. Each was sworn in by Town Attorney Jay Daigneault. All three had ran unopposed, eliminating the need for a municipal election. Super has been a resident of the town for the last two years after being a regular visitor for the 20 years prior.

    INDIAN SHORES — Incumbents Nicholas Menchise and Mark Housman have been re-elected to seats on Indian Shores Town Council. Results of the March 12 municipal election were announced at a March 13 town hall meeting and congratulations to the winners were extended by Mayor Diantha Schear. Challenger Robert ‘Bo’ Bauman was defeated in the election with just under 25% of ballots cast, or 71 votes, according to election-night tallies. Menchise drew 42%, or 121 votes, and Housman 33%, or 94 votes.

    NORTH REDINGTON BEACH — After serving 20 years as mayor of North Redington Beach, Bill Queen resigned Feb. 18 via phone call to the town’s attorney, Jay Daigneault. Queen had sold his home in North Redington Beach and moved to Seminole on Feb. 18, making him no longer qualified to remain on the Board of Commissioners. Vice Mayor Kevin Kennedy is acting mayor until the new mayor, Jay Super, is sworn in on Thursday.

    INDIAN SHORES — The town of Indian Shores accepted a donation of $125,000 from the J.J. Gano, Jr. Trust for the construction of a public safety building, at the Feb. 11 Town Council meeting. The town administrator and mayor were authorized and directed in a resolution to sign and execute any required documents related to the proposed building subject to the review of legal counsel.
