Volkanovski delivered a vintage performance against Diego Lopes on Saturday to claim the vacant featherweight title and become the first person older than 35 to win a belt in a weight class below 170 pounds in the UFC.

Diego Lopes took his loss to Alexander Volkanovski pretty hard. This past weekend, Lopes squared off with Volkanovski for the vacant featherweight title in the main event of UFC 314. Though Lopes had some moments, Volkanovski showed the incredible skill that made him one of the longest-tenured featherweight champions of all time, and earned a clear-cut unanimous decision win to reclaim the title. It was a heartbreaking loss for Lopes, and now we know just how much it meant to him.

In the main event Belal Muhammad defends his welterweight strap against Jack Della Maddalena. Muhammad was originally supposed to faced undefated Shavkat Rakhmonov in the main event of UFC 310, however an injury forced him out of the bout, and Rakhmonov himself got injured, leading to Maddalena stepping in.
