I recently re-read the book - which is my favourite book of all time - and I do think this is one of the best book-to-film adaptations (it helps that the writer/director also wrote the book…). The casting really is perfect. Logan Lerman is perfect as Charlie. Emma Watson is perfect as Sam (we’ll let her accent slide). Ezra Miller is perfect as Patrick (even if they are a terrible human being). The changes from the book all work really well for the screen.
