Shelbyville. Next door. Next level. The City of Shelbyville replaced its three-decade old logo and slogan “Pride in Progress” Tuesday at the Intelliplex Conference Center with a more modern looking logo and tagline, “Next door. Next level.”The new brand was created by Indianapolis-based marketing agency Hirons based on information received from local focus groups, virtual listening sessions and more than 1,000 responses from the community to an online public survey.

What comes to mind when you think about the word "proximity?"Some of you might have thought about the word "close." The Cambridge Dictionary defines proximity like this: “the state of being near in space or time.” Proximity in space means if you go to a sporting event or music concert, you have a proximity to those in the seats around you. Proximity in time means that we are close to the events in history, some more so than others.

In Castaic Studios, LLC v. Wonderland Studios LLC, the California Court of Appeal held that when a property owner only licenses its real property to another, the property owner cannot use California's summary eviction process, unlawful detainer, against the defaulting party. Here, Castaic entered into a written agreement by which it granted Wonderland the “exclusive right to use" certain areas of Castaic's commercial property.
