    LECANTO – Coming off a stellar sophomore campaign on the track, one could understand why Lecanto’s Adrianna Miller was a little awestruck when she read the email May 27 notifying her, she had been accepted to compete in the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Eugene, Oregon, commonly known as “Track Town USA.”The three-day event, which began Thursday and ends Sunday, when Miller will compete in the 400-meter hurdles at 12:52 a.m. EST in the second of eight heats.

    RENTON, Washington — It was a whirlwind 48-plus hours for 13-year-old Mary Catherine Summers over the weekend as the eighth-grade phenom from Seven Rivers Christian School traveled to the Pacific Northwest for the Brooks PR Invite on Sunday at Renton Memorial Stadium. Summers made the most of her opportunities in the Seattle-area since arriving Friday morning, as she adjusted to the three-hour time difference between Florida and Washington state.

    LECANTO – While track season came to a close almost a month ago, for one Citrus County phenom she hasn’t been able to hang up her track shoes just yet. Mary Summers of Seven Rivers Christian captured state championships in the 1600- and 3200-meter runs at the Class 1A State Track & Field Championship on May 10 at Hodges Field on the campus of the University of North Florida. In addition to her pair of championship victories, Summers also placed third in the 800-meter run.
