A 15-2 run on either side of the first break set the platform, as they shot out to a lead they would never relinquish. They beat the South Pac Magic 58-49 in Dunedin women’s club basketball on Tuesday night, ending the Magic’s four-game winning streak in the process.

This time the City Rise Bombers held off the comeback. Varsity twice pulled back to a one-possession game but could never quite edge ahead of the defending champions. The Bombers hung tough to run out 85-80 winners in Dunedin men’s club basketball on Saturday. The win followed a late-game slip-up last week against the Mid City Magic, the only team to beat the Bombers this season. But this week the Bombers dug in. The Mid City Magic are flying high at 7-0 so far in Dunedin men's club hoops. Dallas Hartmann got to be a runaway MVP favourite. The City Rise Bombers looming as likely contenders. Magic pipped them in OT on Saturday, but both teams missing their Nuggets. https://t.co/3ZCwG4djRC

It's getting so embarrassing being an Otago Nuggets fan at this point. Nothing to do with results, everything to do with this attitude. https://t.co/XD9UcsHgNb
