By Jeff Dobronyi ⋅ Review Editor ⋅ Dec 6, 2024 The Best Snow Grips for 2024We bought 10 top ice cleats (aka snow grips) and set out to shovel, hike, and commute on icy paths. We evaluated each on traction, ease of use, fit and durability. The not only gave the best traction, but they were incredibly easy to use and had a secure fit. The Bozeman performs very similarly to other winter boots in the slip-on category, but it has a wider toe box that can make the foot feel insecure for some. It also has slightly less weather resistance due to the cut-out handles on the side of the shaft, though this is minor, and the durability of these boots is top-notch. Performance ComparisonThese boots use neoprene insulation to provide warmth, the same material used in wetsuits by surfers in cold water.

These gloves sacrifice warmth and some weather resistance for dexterity and breathability. Performance ComparisonWith only a thin fleece lining for insulation and a soft leather shell fabric, these gloves are not warm enough for cold days at the ski resort. They kept our testers' hands warm down to about 25 degrees Fahrenheit (-4 degrees Celcius), but below that, our hands got cold. That means that these gloves aren't warm enough for most days at the ski resort.
