One thing that’s become clear to me in the past year or so is that the transgender women in sports issue really matters to people. Polls tell me this, election results tell me this, and Fox News flogging the issue like a disobedient gimp in an S&M dungeon tells me this. This baffles some people. “Aren’t we talking about a very small number of athletes?” they wonder.

I’ve written about DOGE afewtimes, and when I do, I hear from people who are a lot more bullish on Elon’s project than I am. Of course, just about everyone is more bullish on Elon’s project than I am, since I see DOGE as a sick perversion of something real, basically what the porn movie Tits a Wonderful Life is to the substantially different 1946 Frank Capra film. But Elon calls his project a war on waste, fraud, and abuse, which is great branding — who favors waste, fraud, and abuse?

On April 4, District Court Judge Paula Xinis ordered the government to return Maryland resident Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia — who was deported to a prison in El Salvador in violation of a court order — to the US no later than April 7. On April 10, with Mr. Abrego Garcia still incarcerated in El Salvador, the Supreme Court ruled 9-0 that the government should “facilitate and effectuate the return” of Mr. Abrego Garcia.
