His father and grandfather owned a sporting goods store in his hometown of Glasgow, but Riherd was more interested in music, taking piano lessons and playing the organ at Glasgow Baptist Church. Croghan, then a sophomore, was one of several current Spartans who started in that opening-round game against Breathitt County when South Warren rallied from a three-run deficit in the seventh inning to claim a 4-3 victory. “It was unbelievable, man,” Croghan said. “Those seniors, I’m still close with some of them even now.
