    A Wytheville felon accused of gang-related activity will now stand trial in Wythe County Circuit Court. Carl Dominique Brown, 47, was indicted Monday on Sept. 16, 2024, charges of gang activity in a gang-free zone and felony destruction of property. Police accused Brown of spray painting “Blood” on roadways and buildings to get affiliated with the Bloods street gang.

    No injuries were reported in a Monday evening house fire in Wytheville. The blaze, though, caused major damage to the 915 West Main St. structure, according to the fire chief. Chris Slemp said Wytheville Fire and Rescue was alerted to the blaze at 7:45 p.m.“Firefighters arrived to find a single-story home with an exterior wall on fire and fire extending into the attic space and out the roof,” he wrote in an email. “All occupants were out and safe on arrival of firefighters.
