This Sunday morning on American Top 40 the 80’s, Casey Kasem features the top songs from April 26th, 1986, it’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Mr. Mister with “Is It Love”. You’ve heard of One Hit Wonders, well Mr. Mister was a One Album Wonder! Their 1985 album “Welcome to the Real World” went to #1 with smash hits like “Broken Wings” and “Kyrie”.

It’s the 40th Anniversary of the debut of “New” Coke in 1985 so for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 how about a song from the charts this week in ’85? From Teena Marie it’s “Lovergirl”. You remember the outrage caused by the New Coke, the company had been losing market share to Pepsi and other drinks. So they conducted some blind taste tests that showed that consumers liked the more sweet taste of Pepsi.

Today is Earth Day, a global event dedicated to raising awareness about environmental issues and promoting action to protect our planet. With that in mind, today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 is from Joni Mitchell with “Big Yellow Taxi”. The song was written by Joni in 1970 and it was a hit in her native Canada, Australia, and England, but only reached #67 in the U.S. A live version of the song in 1974 did make the top 40 here.

It’s hard to believe it’s already been nine years since Prince passed away on this date in 2016. For today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we go back to 1985 for “Pop Life”. Prince Rogers Nelson from the Twin Cities went on to become one of the most influential musicians of all-time.

Happy Easter! We’re heading into the weekend with a fun Friday Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from The Power Station it’s “Some Like It Hot”. The supergroup featuring Tony Thompson from Chic, John and Andy Taylor from Duran Duran, and Robert Palmer was named after the Power Station recording studio in New York where their first album was recorded.

It’s bad enough we are blacked out from six teams but now we pay and can’t watch baseball on FREAKING OPENING DAY. What the hell @MLBTV

Do you know how frustrating it is to live in Iowa, pay for the NBA League Pass and still not be able to watch the @Timberwolves and @chicagobulls without paying more $? Get rid of blackouts. It’s approaching @MLB stupidity.
