Thread the nut onto the bolt, hit it with 37 “ugga-duggas” and it’s all done, right? *insert buzzer here* Whoops! That’s a fail, and now you have a broken bolt. If you have been turning wrenches for a few years, you have probably developed a sense for what 20-50 ft-lbs of torque feels like. It only takes stripping the threads with a ¼-20 bolt in an intake once to realize that you should’ve stopped the second it started getting easier to turn.

Reaching over the side of the car to unlock the passenger door is easy enough, but it is certainly a little undignified. Pressing a button to unlock the doors is much cooler, and you don’t have to strain to reach the handle. Unlocking the rear doors is even harder to do from the driver’s seat. Adding power door locks to you classic Chevy car or truck is not as hard as you might think, even though the inner door handle is the also locking mechanism.

Prior to the 1968 model year, seatbelts were an optional accessory for all vehicles. This means that your Chevrolet from the 40s doesn’t have any sort of passenger restraints. While the legality of the seatbelt will keep you from getting a ticket for not wearing one, you are certainly missing the bigger picture- you and your passengers are considerably less safe without them.

That was a big quake that lasted a good 45-60 seconds.
