A Chinese fugitive who is wanted in his country for illegal drugs trafficking charges has been arrested in Paranaque City, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said on Wednesday, April 16. The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Tuesday, April 15, urged the public to report suspicious activities of foreign nationals who may be involved in scam operations. “We call on the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities involving illegal aliens,” said BI Commissioner Joel Anthony M. Viado in a statement. The BI made the call following the arrest of 86 foreign nationals last April 10 at a scam operation discovered inside a condominium in Makati City.

Bureau of Immigration (BI) personnel assigned at the country's airports were not allowed to take leaves of absence this Holy Week due to the expected influx of travellers. Two convicted American sex offenders have been barred from entering the Philippines, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said on Monday, April 14. The BI identified the two Americans as Jeremy Paul Beazer, 45, and Michael Antonio Rios, 54, who were intercepted at the Clark International Airport (CIA) on April 8 and 4, respectively. “Both Americans were immediately booked on the first available flight back to their port or origin after they were denied entry to the country,” the BI said.
