I’ve recently returned from a seven-day mission to Israel with Partners Detroit, an organization dedicated to connecting Jews of all backgrounds to their heritage through learning, community and immersive experience. I joined the trip hoping to learn and grow — but I came back changed in ways I didn’t expect. I thought I understood what was happening in Israel. I didn’t. This experience challenged me, moved me and left me with a sense of responsibility I’ll carry forward.
