The phrase “solar power” likely brings to mind big rooftop arrays or vast fields and flotillas of photovoltaic panels powering large swaths of the nearby buildings. But the sun can power smaller things, too — solar-charged decorative lights, for example, are common along suburban driveways and walkways. Flemington-based Sunsign uses the sun to power signs, as the name implies. The signs are fully portable, with 3-foot-by-2-foot graphics on both sides.

Fortune magazine named Merck, Hackensack Meridian Health and Atlantic Health System among the country’s 100 best companies to work for in its latest such list, released April 2. Merck earned the highest rank among the New Jersey companies, at No. 68. HMH came it at No. 72 and Atlantic Health ranked 83rd. Merck and Atlantic Health also made last year’s list, while HMH made its debut in 2025. McLean, Va.-based Hilton topped the Fortune list.

Scott Matthews, a 21-year veteran at Windels Marx Lane & Mittendorf LLC, is taking over as managing partner of the firm. He succeeds Robert Luddy, who served at the helm since 2001. Matthews joined the firm in 2004 and was named partner in 2011. His practice focuses on business disputes, including employment matters, contracts, fraud, commercial real estate and asset recovery.
