Global water scarcity is motivating the expanded treatment of seawater, brackish water, and wastewater. Robust treatment trains typically include semipermeable reverse osmosis (RO) membrane barriers that allow the passage of clean water while retaining the majority (>99%) of salts, dissolved organics, and pathogens.
