    On December 15, 1791 the second amendment to the Constitution was ratified along with nine others. Collectively the group of ten is known as the Bill of Rights. These changes were added to the Constitution at the insistence of Anti-Federalists who wanted to keep power with state and local governments. George Mason was among the most vocal for protecting individual rights, and his agitation convinced James Madison, an early skeptic of changing the Constitution so soon, of the importance.

    What is a swing state and what will be the swing states in 2024? Generally speaking a swing state is a term used to describe one that is rather evenly divided between Democrats and Republicans and/or the ones experts believe could “go either way” (i.e. swing) in presidential elections. Terms like battleground states, toss-up states, and purple states essentially refer to the same concept.

    Consider weight loss programs and government programs. Both are perpetually in the news. Americans regularly confess they could be a little leaner and so too could the federal budget. But never are the two considered together. Why is it that neither waistlines nor the federal budget ever shrinks? Are the two concepts really that similar? It turns out yes— more than you think. Let’s start with weight loss. We all know the formula for reducing weight.
