When we examine recent international peer-reviewed articles, a striking pattern emerges. The global skills shortage in oil and gas, and the rapidly expanding green hydrogen sector is not isolated to Namibia. These shortages are deeply felt in developed economies too. In fact, despite their resources and industrial advantage, leading economies in the Global North are urgently up-skilling their own citizens to meet this gap.

In a world where education is increasingly defined by standardization, screens, and testing, more parents across Namibia are asking a crucial question: Is this really the best way to raise future-ready children? This is not proper English. The phrase “repatriated back home” is redundant because “repatriated” already means returning home. Adding “back home” is unnecessary and informal. The person using this phrase is just flaunting a fancy accent and not speaking proper English.
