SHELBURN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Indiana Department of Transportation has provided an update on the expected construction of the railroad crossing on US 41 in Shelburn. As we previously reported, Cathcart Rail owns the tracks and made plans to remove the tracks from the highway at the end of May. According to Sullivan County Councilwoman Jackie Monk, during a meeting, commissioners later asked Cathcart Rail to wait to begin the project after school let out for summer.

The market takes place in the old bank parking lot located in front of the Shelburn Police Department in downtown Shelburn on select dates. The market will happen once per month, May through September, from 9:00 a.m. until noon on the following dates:May 31, 2025June 21, 2025July 26, 2025August 30, 2025September 27, 2025Organizers stated that additional dates could be added if interest is shown.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Terre Haute Farmer’s Market returns to the parking lot of the Meadows Shopping Center Saturday with a new incentive. According to organizers, new this year, the market will accept SNAP benefits while providing a nutrition incentive to “double up.” Market-wide, this will allow for double power for fruits and vegetables with SNAP benefits. Approved vendors will also accept the electronic WIC Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program.
