Center City resident Dawn Burke Sena wasn’t especially interested in watching the game,so she decided to host a gathering for the women on her block. In preparation, she went to a ceramic pottery place and painted the words, “The Women of Delancey Street,” on about 25 cream-colored, handmade plates.

When Jim Crow ruled, my schoolteacher parents were denied the right to vote. Why? Because of their race. Same thing with my grandparents. And my great-grandparents. As well as all the enslaved ancestors toiling on plantations who preceded them. So you could never convince me tosupport any sort of poll tax. Not today. Not tomorrow. Not ever. His family’s nightmare started as a typical Saturday in February. Charlene Maddox Chimilio was inside her home in Germantown preparing for a trip to the Please Touch Museum.

This is well deserved. #philly https://t.co/3RgiluYHyX

This is really scary to cross. I've done it many times both on bicycle and on foot I and have never gotten use to it.

The area in front of the Art Museum is dangerous. The little piece of land is too small in the middle when crossing. Cars can’t be allowed to stop in the drive lane in front of steps. The current set up doesn’t work This should be addressed ASAP… for everybody’s benefit. https://t.co/pucEJCUIbi
