I and my @NerdettePodcast colleagues are among the people laid off yesterday. there’s a lot to figure out, but we will still be making the show for a bit yet. thank you to the hundreds of people who have reached out with their support. your kind words are such a comfort.

I’m heartbroken for my colleagues and the audience that relies on our local news coverage. This steady loss of local coverage is devastating for communities and our democracy.

This morning, @wamu885 management informed us they are laying off 15 vital people from our organization. These individuals are the lifeblood of our journalism. Our hearts are broken. We can’t believe we are losing our colleagues and friends.
