But for most people, the beaches are its biggest draw.

    SALINA — The Bethel men’s basketball team has had a hot start to their season, starting non-conference play 4-0. Two of these wins came over the weekend at the Kansas Wesleyan Classic, where the Threshers beat Wayland Baptist 84-77 on Friday and got a win against Northern New Mexico on Saturday 77-69. “You can't talk about the games this weekend without talking about Harper Jonas,” Head coach Jayson Artaz said.

    STERLING — The Bethel football team started their season off with a dominate win against Sterling on Saturday on the road, winning the contest 13-0 while holding Sterling to just 83 yards in the contest. Both teams struggled to find momentum in the first quarter, seeing neither team score. Quarterback DJ Ciers would finally put Bethel on the board in the second quarter, after ensuing a 71-yard drive of ten plays, with a one-yard touchdown run, proving himself as a weapon yet again this season.

    On Monday, the Bethel Athletic Department announced via social media the resignation of Head Football Coach A.B. Stokes and the appointment of Daylon Markham as Interim Head Coach for the upcoming season. "We want to thank Coach Stokes for his time at Bethel College," stated Athletic Director Tim Swartzendruber.
