Kicking off Wed., March 5, with a free community movie night, DIFF brings five days of independent film to our corner of the cinematic universe, offering nearly 100 independent films for our viewing pleasure.

Attention closet keyboard klankers and newbie novelists: Four Corners Writers is seeking submissions from area writers for its second anthology of fiction, nonfiction and poetry. The upcoming collection follows the success of the Cortez-based nonprofit’s 2024 anthology, “Four Corners Voices,” which features the work of more than 40 regional authors and poets.

The Hive has found a new home. Last week, the local nonprofit youth organization announced it will be moving into a new location at 1175 Camino del Rio. The Hives lost its lease last summer at its former location at 1150 Main Ave. The new location, conveniently located along the river trail and across the river from the skatepark, comes with a five-year lease and an option to renew for another five years.
