OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma public schools are being told to sign a letter agreeing to ban Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) or lose federal funding. The Title VI assurance letter follows the Trump Administration's requirement that all schools comply with the elimination of DEI initiatives. State Superintendent Ryan Walters said the majority of Oklahoma schools have already signed the letter. Here's the letter in full.

TULSA, Okla. — A Tulsa Public Schools assistant coach was arrested for an alleged assault and battery of a minor at an April 17 track meet. According to police records, a fight between students broke out around 6:15 p.m. during the meet. Assistant Coach Gui Lowmack was seen hitting a student in the face with his hand, "causing great bodily harm."Lowmack turned himself in on April 21 and is in jail on complaints of assault and battery on a minor and aggravated assault and battery.

TULSA, Okla. — A child suffered significant injuries after being hit by a vehicle near 21st and Memorial on April 16, according to the Tulsa Police Department. Officers said the vehicle hit the child on 21st Street just west of Memorial. TPD shut down the westbound lanes of 21st to investigate. This is a developing story. Check back for updates. TULSA, Okla. — While chasing a jaywalking suspect, a Tulsa police officer didn't put their car in park, which led to the car hitting an officer and the suspect, according to the Tulsa Police Department. The chase started near 11th and Garnett after officers saw the suspect jaywalking across the street. After talking with officers, the suspect ran off, TPD said. The pursuit ended in the parking lot of a gas station.
