Her office says the updated site offers a more accessible and user-friendly resource for those seeking information on how to recognize, report and prevent elder abuse. Michigan's Elder Abuse Task Force launched in 2019 and consists of more than 55 different organizations in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors – all working together to combat elder abuse.

On its website and Facebook page, the City of Wyoming lists the affected area as north and east of Buck Creek within the city limits. The city says due to a drop in water pressure in a portion of the city’s water distribution system, bacterial contamination may have occurred… adding bacteria are generally not harmful and are common throughout the environment. Corrective measures have been taken, and pressure has been restored.

The week highlights the importance of protecting children 2 years old and younger from vaccine-preventable diseases. Department of Natural Resources staff members are assessing damage and conducting cleanup at several state parks and campgrounds, boating access sites and more following those severe ice storms. DNR crews are also collaborating with local agencies and utility companies to clear debris, prioritize the restoration of essential services and ensure access to critical infrastructure. With Easter just a week and half away, Mel Trotter Ministries is prepping for its annual Easter Holiday Community meal.
