Amazon has committed to improving the way it tackles fake reviews by cracking down on sellers using them to boost product ratings, following an investigation by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). The CMA says that ending the affliction of fake reviews is a priority due to the influence they have over customers. According to the competition watchdog, around 90 per cent of consumers use reviews when making purchasing decisions.
