How will I feel as soon as my baby's born? Giving birth is an amazing achievement, and every mum responds in her own way. You may feel alert and happy - physically, mentally, and emotionally satisfied. Or you may feel bruised and battered, exhausted, disappointed and even depressed. You may be in pain if you've had a tear or cut (episiotomy). You may experience any of these feelings and emotions, or none of them. However you feel, remember that you are recovering from a huge physical upheaval.

What cervical mucus looks like: photos

Not sure what cervical mucus (CM) looks like as you go through your menstrual cycle? These photos will give you an idea of what to check for as you track your most fertile days. You can check your CM by looking at the toilet paper after you wipe or inserting a clean finger into your vagina and reaching toward your cervix. You're likely to find more CM if you check after a bowel movement. Everybody is different, and you may not see these variations in your own CM.
Vaginal spotting or bleeding in early pregnancy

Light bleeding, or spotting, during pregnancy is common and usually nothing to worry about. Spotting is similar to a period but much lighter, and can vary incolour. You may notice anything from red to dark brown discharge. If you have brown discharge this just means the blood is a little older and no more a reason to worry than red spotting. Let your doctor or midwife know if you have red or brown discharge in pregnancy though even if it stops, just in case.
