The Trump administration is considering withdrawing thousands of United States troops from South Korea, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday. The move would be welcome news to Russia, China and North Korea and stir new fears about America’s commitments to longtime allies. The proposal calls for pulling 4,500 of the current 28,500 U.S. troops out of the country and possibly moving them to other locations in the region, such as Guam.

At least 28 people were killed and dozens injured as a result of storms and tornadoes striking Kentucky, Missouri and Virginia on Friday and Saturday. 19 people were killed in Kentucky. 7 in Missouri. 2 in Virginia. Dozens of injuries were also reported, with at least 10 individuals in critical condition. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said most of the destruction in his state was caused by a tornado that touched down at EF3 strength on Saturday morning.
