Conspiring to commit offences under the Criminal Law is also an offence, as is the use of an intermediary to facilitate a bribe.

In the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance (POBO),  'public servant' is the term used to describe a (domestic) public official. Of the offences set out in Part II of POBO, there are seven that relate specifically to bribery of a public servant.
