    April 15, 2025 @ 12:15 PM Bleecker Street has acquired the U.S. distribution rights to “Rebuilding,” a wildfire drama from director Max Walker-Silverman and starring Josh O’Connor, Lily Latorre and Meghann Fahy. The film premiered at Sundance this past January and will be the opening film of the San Francisco Film Festival this Thursday. O’Connor stars in the film as Dusty, a cowboy who loses his ranch to devastating wildfires.

    Workers at the Alamo Drafthouse locations in Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn have ended their 58-day strike after reaching an agreement with management that will see laid off workers at the two theaters reinstated. “Strike won! All jobs are back!” the union announced in a social media post on Monday. “We will be returning to work officially on April 18 but feel free to start patronizing the Alamos in BK & Manhattan as soon as today.” More to come…

    The latest FilmLA quarterly production report is as grim as expected, showing a 22% year-over-year decline in on-location shooting in Los Angeles County with 5,295 shoot days logged. The quarter, of course, opened with the deadly and destructive Palisades and Eaton wildfires that have displaced thousands of Los Angeles residents, but their impact on local production beyond postponements was minimal.
