1 INTRODUCTION The Surrey and Sussex Cancer Alliance (SSCA)1 covers a population of 3.2 million people in the South of England. Its mission is to shape, deliver and oversee a programme of interventions to improve cancer detection, diagnosis, treatment outcomes and patient experience in line with National Health Service (NHS) guidance.
