A New Movie Is Coming As WellIf you have fond memories of the original Tron movie, you might also have some not so fond memories of the arcade game. The Tron franchise, which has been in existence for 43 years now, is getting both a new movie and a new game. Tron: Catalyst releases in a few weeks but as of today you can grab the demo from Steam to give Bithell Games’ not quite isometric action game a try.

Their ‘Misunderstanding’ Seems To Have Cleared Up Very QuicklyYesterday we learned how Yandex and Meta abused localhost ports to violate the terms of the Google Play store and while Yandex has yet to provide a response to the discovery, Meta definitely did. Yesterday a Meta representative stated that they had misunderstood the rules and they thought the data exfiltrated by their Pixel Script shouldn’t upset anyone. As of today the Pixel script is no longer active.

We’re Calling Spying De-anonymizing Now? Two app companies with widespread penetration in the smartphone market, Meta and Yandex, have been caught breaking Android’s sandboxing and pass unique identifiers from your browser to their apps. This behaviour violates the terms of service for the Google Play marketplace and should be of great concern for anyone with even a modicum of interest in their own privacy; it may well also breach the law in some counties.

Snappy Patch Releases Needed For SnapdragonQualcomm have released three patches for the Adreno GPU found it a vast amount of Android devices; not every Android phone has a Snapdragon GPU but most do so you will need to keep an eye out for updates. The first two patches address a zero-day discovered back in January and can lead to memory corruption thanks to unauthorized command executions on the GPU.
