Currently sitting with a 14-8 record, as of May 7, the Tigers can attribute this in large part to outstanding pitching performances and a dependable defense. “Our pitching has been really good,” Oakville head coach Rich Sturm said. “I think our defense has been solid.”While the team has been anchored by those strengths, Sturm acknowledges that the team’s offense is still a work in progress.

Southern Illinois Championship Wrestling (SICW) presents Fanfest III on May 16 and 17, now set at the Hilton St. Louis Airport Hotel—a move that promises easier logistics for the more than 50 wrestling icons scheduled to appear.

Spiritbox brought their unique brand of metal and a fantastic stage performance to the Pagaent Tuesday night. Courtney’s vocals were spot on and Zev Roses brutal drum beats kept the crowd constantly engaged during their St Louis stop on the Tsunami Sea tour. Their set included 16 songs from a number of albums keeping a good balance. Loathe (Liverpool) and Dying Wish (Portland) performed well in the opening slots, each bringing a unique angle to metal and revving the crowd into a frenzy.

April 24, 2025 The Lindbergh High School girls soccer team notched a statement win on April 14, shutting out Union 2-0 behind a dominant performance from sophomore standout Kasey Patten. Patten netted both goals—one in each half—leading the Flyers to victory. She now has three goals on the season for Lindbergh. The Flyers’ defense also shone against Union, with Mackenzie Bieg and Josie Watz combining efforts in goal to secure the clean sheet.

Things are clicking for the Lindbergh High School baseball team this spring, as the Flyers storm into mid-April with a 10-2 record and one of the area’s hottest offenses. Coming off an 18-15 season in 2024, head coach Darin Scott’s squad looks reenergized and determined after securing their fifth straight win with a commanding 13-2 victory over Kirkwood on April 14. Leading the offensive charge is senior Luke Seiler, who boasts a .516 batting average, 14 RBIs and two home runs.

Sophomore Ashley Forbes made her much-anticipated season debut after a preseason injury, wasting no time getting on the scoresheet with an assist.

Ryan Coogler’s highly anticipated latest film, Sinners, is out now in theatres. This feature has been marked on my calendar for quite some time, as the film garnered a lot of attention months before its release. The film stars Michael B. Jordan as twins Smoke and Stack, more properly known as “The Smokestack Twins.” The cast is also rounded out with Saul Williams, Miles Caton, Li Jun Li, Delroy Lindo, Wunmi Mosaku, Hailee Steinfield, and Jack O’Connell.
