With the 2025 NFL Draft almost at our doorstep, the mock drafts are flying fast and furious. Analysts are trying to glean every last bit of information they can before trying to connect the dots as best as possible. Analyst Bucky Brooks just dropped his latest mock draft for NFL.com on Tuesday afternoon. And he went with the hot hand, selecting Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Shedeur Sanders is arguably the most discussed player in the upcoming draft.

It doesn’t take long searching on social media to discover that there is a large contingent of Pittsburgh Steelers fans who are not fans of Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders. Some raise valid points about Sanders’ propensity for taking sacks or lack of elite athleticism. Others simply toss around that he’s Kenny Pickett 2.0 (which makes no sense to me). But the dots connecting Sanders and the Steelers are getting tighter and tighter as we get closer to the draft.

The longer the saga goes on, the more people are getting frustrated with the wait. For the record, Rodgers himself has said he completely understands if teams need to move on from him because of the delay. But will the Steelers be one of those teams that will move on?

The Pittsburgh Steelers have invested heavily in the offensive line over the past two seasons. They spent back-to-back first-round picks on offensive tackles. They drafted two interior offensive linemen in 2024. But could the line’s performance really come down to one player, OT Broderick Jones? No, all five players on the offensive line have to play well for a line to function. But the Steelers have to be pretty happy with the interior of the line at this point.
