Hundreds filled up Bethany Baptist Church to pay tribute to him on Monday afternoon. “Thank you for being his family. You were truly his family,” said Diedre Robinson, Van’s niece.

Jolene Todd is an advocate and volunteer for the ALS Association, who is putting on the event. Her father passed away back in 2023 after his fight against ALS. They bonded over baseball, even though they were fans of rival baseball teams. “He was a diehard Yankees fan.

AUBURN, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Storms on Tuesday night brought flooding across Central New York. That includes the Owasco Country Club, specifically on their golf course. “Getting in this morning, taking a look at the rain gages . They said we had over an inch and three-quarters of water,” said Brandon Platt, the superintendent for the course. “I knew I didn’t have to step out onto the course to know we have a lot of rain.”The Sucker Brook creek runs through the golf course.

Under the deal is a proposal to make community college free for New Yorkers aged 25 to 55 who pursue careers in high-demand fields. “This will be for those who enter the high-demand fields of advanced manufacturing, health care, and education,” Governor Kathy Hochul said. “We have so many vacancies.”The goal is to fill those vacancies with community college graduates.
