NEW YORK (AP) — Cade Horton earned the win with four solid innings of relief in his major league debut, and the Chicago Cubs held off the New York Mets 6-5 on Saturday night. Cubs opener Brad Keller worked a perfect first inning before giving way to Horton, who was recalled from Triple-A Iowa earlier in the day. The team's top pitching prospect gave up three hits — including Brett Baty’s three-run homer in the fourth — and struck out five.

NEW YORK (AP) — After more than 11 months and hundreds of singalongs, “My Girl” finally has some company atop the charts at Citi Field. New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor, whose pivot to The Temptations’ “My Girl” as his walk-up song last May coincided with a turnaround in fortunes for Lindor and his teammates, added “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” — the 1967 duet by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell — to his rotation prior to his second at-bat in Friday's 7-2 win over the Chicago Cubs.

Screw you and your True Met Moment, says Francisco Lindor to Juan Soto before he delivers yet another True Met Moment with an absolutely titanic blast into the second deck. The guy who usually leads off with hits ends it with one. Mets win 5-4.

Huascar Brazoban is not going to get the save. Brendan Donovan leads off the ninth with a homer. Does set Juan Soto up for his first True Mets Moment in the bottom of the ninth, though.

Now this is quirky: Huascar Brazoban, who made the start in his previous appearance, is on for the save.
