The wait is nearly over. The History Channel has finally officially announced the date for the premiere of The Curse of Oak Island Season 12. Fans have been left out in the cold since the end of Season 11, way back in April, but the famously tight-lipped producers have confirmed what we all suspected: the new season will start in November. We always knew Season 12 of The Curse of Oak Island was in the works because the team has spent all summer working on the island.

The Curse of Oak Island’s geoscientist, Dr. Ian Spooner, has claimed in an interview that he’s “convinced something special happened” on the island. The scientist also reiterated that the precious metals he and his colleagues Dr. Matt Lukeman and Dr. Fred Michel detected in the water are not naturally occurring and indicate “human in-placed metal.”Ian also teased that The Curse of Oak Island fans can look forward to significant discoveries during Season 12.

As filming continues for Season 12, the action has seriously ramped up for The Curse of Oak Island in the last couple of weeks with the arrival of some heavy-duty equipment. So, Monsters and Critics is asking what the Fellowship of the Dig plans to do with this equipment. Where’s the big dig happening? So far, we’ve seen the arrival of pumping equipment, a big crane, a massive new wash plant, sheet piling, and what looks like 20-foot-long caissons.

It was reported that yesterday was a “crazy busy day,” with a constant convoy of equipment, tractor-trailers, and dump trucks crossing the causeway. This has led to a buzz of excitement among fans who reckon a big project is underway.
