The dream season for Toms River North’s boys track team now has a crown jewel achievement: a national record. The Mariners clocked 55.93 in the shuttle hurdles relay May 22 during the East Brunswick Sprint Series, well under the old standard of 56.32 set by Westside of South Carolina in 2004. Senior Camryn Thomas (13.7 split), sophomore Jael Hester (14.0), senior Mordecai Ford (14.3) and senior Mamadi Diawara (13.7) ran the legs for Toms River North, which won the race by more than three seconds.
