Auburn track & field senior Makanakaishe Charamba was named the SEC Men’s Runner of the Week Tuesday afternoon, after recording a time of 19.99 in the 200m at the Tom Jones Memorial in Gainesville, Florida. Charamba posted a record-setting time and holds the only sub-20 second performance so far, this outdoor season. His time was just four hundredths shy of his school record time of 19.95.

Auburn football lost another defensive back to the transfer portal Saturday, the fourth since spring practice ended. Sophomore corner Tyler Scott is the latest to enter the portal, he confirmed to AL.com Saturday. On3 was first to report the news. Scott missed the 2024 season after suffering an ACL injury last summer. He entered the portal last spring, but eventually returned to Auburn. Scott saw action in four regular-season games plus the Music City Bowl in 2023.

Auburn basketball picked up its fifth player out the transfer portal, gaining a commitment from Elyjah Freeman. Freeman chose the Tigers over schools like Indiana and Tennessee, after averaging 18.8 points and 9.2 rebounds at Lincoln Memorial. The 6-foot-8 wing could be a worthy replacement for Chad Baker-Mazara after his sudden entry into the transfer portal. Freeman shot 46% from beyond the arc in his freshman season.

Former Auburn basketball freshman Jahki Howard has committed to the Utah Utes, according to On3. Howard was the first player to enter the transfer portal at the conclusion of the Tigers season. Howard averaged 4.2 points and 1.1 rebounds after coming off the bench last season. The 6-foot-6 small forward, ranked as a 4-star recruit in the 2024 class according to 247Sports, Rivals and On3. Bruce Pearl and Auburn men’s basketball snagged another guard in the transfer portal. Former Texas Tech guard Kevin Overton committed to Auburn Thursday afternoon, according to On3 Sports. Overton played in 36 games last season as the Red Raiders sixth man. He averaged nearly eight points and four rebounds per game and shot 33% from beyond the arc. With Overton now in the class, Auburn has added four players through the transfer portal and seven players overall.
