Wow, well it’s been a whirlwind of information since last Friday as the auto industry adjusts to the new tariffs. There was just a brief moment of euphoria two days ago when word came out that the President was pausing the reciprocal tariffs for 90 days, but it was short lived joy because he did not lift them on autos. Oh, well. The initial panic from a week ago has subsided somewhat, which is good.

Talk about love at first sight. I’ve always been attracted to Mercedes-Benz coupes, and the bigger the better. For me, there is just something beautiful about them. So, what Mercedes did is take the E-class coupe and the C-Class coupe and mate them so to speak, to produce the CLE coupe. To make it even better, there is an AMG version. What I have for you this week is the stunning AMG CLE 53. With a little luck, there will be an AMG CLE 63 in my future with even more horsepower.

As a professional car reviewer, you have those weeks when you are not excited for the vehicle you are getting to review, but don’t get me wrong, I am always thankful that a huge automaker would trust me with their product. They go out of their way to deliver it in perfect condition, wipe it down again when they get to me in case it got dirty, they’ve filled it with gas, and they’ve preset my favorite radio stations. No matter what it is, I am happy to have it.

Well, he wasn’t bluffing. I kind of thought the President was, he loves to do that, and I expected a last minute announcement of deals being struck with some countries, especially Mexico and Canada. That did not happen, although some of the reciprocal tariffs were not levied against our neighbors to the north and south, but the 25% does stand. For now. In the coming days, could individual deals be struck with other countries that are taxing us now? Absolutely. Is that likely? My opinion, yes.

It’s that time of year! One of our Certified Dealers in DFW got a ton of hail just a few days ago. Many people will have thunderstorms, rain, and likely hail. In my home state of Texas, hail is expected in the spring, you just hope and pray it is pea-sized, not softball-sized. Many areas in our listening audience this time of year experience big amounts of rainfall.
