Hello Stickman,I read your column regularly. You really seem to know your stuff. If you don’t mind answering, have you ever made your living playing in the casinos? If so, how did it go. If not, have you ever thought about going pro? Jose in LouisianaHi Jose,Very good questions. Let me give you a brief autobiography of my gambling life. The first couple of times I went to Vegas, I knew nothing of advantage play. I played only blackjack because I was familiar with it.

From Laquita G. Hello Stickman,I very much enjoy your articles. I find the information you present interesting and easy to understand. On to my question for you. Every time I am dealt a hand containing a three of a kind, I know I am a winner and I know the winning amount is more than just my initial bet.

Preamble: While browsing through the offerings on television the other night I came across Se7en. It is a 1995 movie about detectives hunting a serial killer that uses the seven deadly sins as motivation for killing. While I am not much of a fan of the movie, lessons can be learned from it regarding video poker play and gambling in general. This is a combined article that covers the sixth deadly sin – wrath, and the seventh deadly sin – sloth. 6.

From Ron G. Hello Stickman,I very much enjoy your articles. The information you present is interesting and easy to understand. I am emailing you with a question. My wife and I have a small bet going. We both play jacks-or-better video poker. We are fortunate to have full-pay (9-6) games available locally. She says that holding three unsuited high cards is always better than holding just two. Her logic is any of the three high cards could pair up with another to at least get the bet back.
