    Serafini Productions’ horror short story anthology series, BrokenLore, continues with its second instalment, BrokenLore: DON’T WATCH, which follows Shinji, a hikikomori who finds himself unable to leave his apartment, even if he wanted to, as a monster awaits for him outside. Taking a similar tone to BrokenLore: LOW, DON’T WATCH is a psychological narrative horror game that’s just over an hour long.

    I adore indie horror games, and oftentimes my love for this genre leads me to some hidden gems, beautifully crafted passion projects that outshine some of the latest AAA releases despite limitations in technology, finances and hands on deck. Other times though, I’ve bore witness to some stinkers. Scarred, by solo Singaporean developer, Choo Bin Yong (KOEX studio), is unfortunately the latter of these.

    Ten years ago, Life is Strange emotionally ruined me as a sixteen-year-old experiencing it as it released episodically. While its dialogue very much reflected the age of its developers trying to mimic the voice of an edgy, hormonal teen, its storyline otherwise outshone this and every episode left me reeling over the fact that I would have to wait another month or so to find out what happens next.
